This past fall RES did two shows at the Lower East side club DROM. These were great event where people came out to see a preview of the documentary and then see Res perform while being able to interact. Res ended each show hanging out with the audience listening to Res’ trusty DJ who did his thing until closing time.
First show was Oct 11, 2012. Res performed to a packed house and performed with guitarist Tim Motzer.
The second show went down Dec 6, 2012. Res fleshed out the sound by adding live drums to her stripped down set.
We received some great press including a piece in the Village Voice

Tochka.Love (Music Video) for Ireesha

I met Ireesha in NYC recently through a friend of Res.
Ireesha wanted a video shot for her song “Tochka.Love” that was different from what she’s done in the past. Being a dancer she wanted to incorporate that in her own unique way. We shot in Riverside and Central Park and other locations in New York City and finished the video in Kiev. We went for a feel and look similar to what you would see in the early days of MTV.
Check out Ireesha on a talk show discussing the video

Res had it pretty good, for a while.
A little more than a decade ago, when the music industry was still flush with cash and power, the Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter (whose given name is Shareese Ballard; her stage name is pronounced “Reese”) had a sweet deal with MCA Records. She had a crash pad on a Los Angeles beach that was paid for by the label, which was jetting her around the globe to open for Mary J. Blige and hooking her up with some of the hottest producers in the land.
Most importantly, Res believed at the time, she was with a label that had her back, believed in her artistic vision, and was as excited to watch this early-twentysomething singer steadily blossom into a star as she was.

Res begins a series of intimate shows at DROM NYC on October 11, 2012.
Res will perform classic songs and discuss what went into making them.
There will also be a special sneak peek at the upcoming documentary + a DJ set

Res was the backstage DJ for the Betsey Johnson Spring 2013 Show for New York Fashion Week.
Spinning upbeat pop/punk/dance tracks for all the models, stylists, make up people and just about everybody behind the scenes to get them in a good mood and ready for the show.
The fashion show was a wild party that paid homage to the downtown dance/punk scene and while celebrating Betsey Johnson’s career and 70th Birthday. Cyndi Lauper was on hand to perform “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and the crowd ate it up. Check out some footage of Res DJing and pictures of the show itself.
